    Eleven children--Tabitha (Mrs. John Cox), Frances (Mrs. Richard Grantham), Mary (Mrs. Joseph Rogers), Elizabeth, John, Rachel (Mrs. James Hagan), Willis, Lincoln, Alice Gale (Mrs. John Gordon), Thomas Gale and Penelope Amis.

    Dr. Carroll Van West, State Historian, stated he believes Amis to be the most
    significant Revolutionary Site in TN. He can prove more Rev soldiers were
    here than anywhere else in TN due to Tom's store ledger. The names are
    written down along with their purchase proving they were here.
